amazing stay staff was great

This is a great airbnb if you’re looking to enjoy the walled city. It’s close to the best restaurants and the host is very responsive. The staff is awesome and the maids double as chefs (they make the best empanadas!) I the villa needs maintenance, the downstairs pool isn’t really usable and there’s broken windows. But if you can look past that, you’ll enjoy yourself! The service makes up for it.

Best place and location

I’ve stayed with plenty of hosts before and this is by far my best experience ever. The butler was amazing and was always around to help us with everything. Mark’s partners helped seamless set up transport, activities, and Mark’s other assistant Maria helped set up so many reservations for us at restaurants seamlessly. This was a perfect vacation for us. The place is beautiful and hands down the best in Cartegena for sure. I would not think twice about booking with Mark I’d you have any hesitations.

This was supposed to be a beautiful retreat for our wedding party who travelled from England and California to celebrate with us and enjoy beautiful Cartagena. Unfortunately it fell rather short of the “luxury” villa expectations that we were sold on. Upon arrival, the villa was noticeably dirty, especially floors in common area and the roof terrace. There was chewing gum on the floors throughout the villa including in bedrooms (some of this was later cleaned up). The pool was both dirty and in disrepair with missing / falling tiles and sharp edges inside. The pool was cleaned during our stay but clearly couldn’t be re-tiled. Stained towels, curtains coming off the rails, windows blacked out with trash bags, maintenance equipment stored in the hallway, and generally dusty and lacking the cleanliness that one would expect from a “luxury” listing. We had a number of water leaks during the stay that had to be rectified. The host Mark was responsive, but overall unacceptable Airbnb Answer by Owner Mark: Richard was the type of guest you know before he even arrives at the house he's going to be a lot of trouble and cause issues. Before arriving at the house he asked to check in a day early for free to assign rooms. This is an absurd request and I could tell already something was a little off about him. After I told him unfortunately I had a guest checking out that day he seemed angry already. Then after checking in at 2pm he waited until nighttime to message me about issues he said with the cleaning. Keep in mind he had 2 maids at the house all day he could have easily said something too. He probably thought I couldn't send anyone over and he would get a refund but since I have a full time staff I sent people over immediately to fix the issues. After fixing everything he deemed an issue I didn't hear from him until after he checked out. He then pretended the issues weren't fixed and requested a large refund. This happens every once in a while when awful people try to game the system and get refunds that are definitely not deserved. I have over 30 houses and 50 properties in Cartagena and this house is the best of them all. To complain about cleaning when you have 2 maids and a butler everyday that cleans and helps with anything you need not only doesn't make sense it's just not possible.

Great big house! Would recommend. Rooms are clean and comfortable with lots of common area on the roof and ground floor.

Hands down the best well kept place in Cartagena. Orlando is a super host that keeps everything in order and happy. we always have a great time in Cartagena and this trip didn't disappoint. couldn't ask for a more well designed mansion. thanks again
