Casa Macondo

We truly enjoyed our stay at Casa Macondo. It is a true villa experience that feels more like a hotel than an Airbnb situation. The house is perfectly located, and we always felt safe. Manuela was responsive at every juncture. Shirley is the greatest! She made amazing breakfast for us daily and we paid a little extra to have her cook us lunch one afternoon, and it was our favorite meal while in Cartagena. I can’t wait to return and stay at Casa Macondo!

An absolutely stunning stay in Cartagena. This Airbnb is modern, design-forward, and visually beautiful, with a thoughtful layout that offers plenty of space to gather or enjoy privacy. The home had everything we needed, including a very well-stocked kitchen. A huge thank you to Shirley, who went above and beyond with cooking and cleaning—and even surprised me with a traditional Colombian birthday breakfast and flowers, which meant so much. Shoutout to Gabriel at the corner bar, La Estrella, for the warm welcome and local hospitality. Everyone truly went the extra mile to make us feel at home. A luxurious, memorable stay—we’d absolutely return.

We had a wonderful stay at Manuela’s beautiful home. Everything was clean and well decorated. Our kids loved the rooftop pool and sunbathing. The location was amazing and just a very short walk to all of the bars, restaurants and shopping. Shirley was so lovely and helpful and added to our stay. We had a missed flight connection and did not arrive to the apartment until very late at night and Shirley met us without complaint. Manuela was so helpful arranging boat and taxi rides for our large group. We had a great time and highly recommend this apartment.

Estive com minha família e foi tudo maravilhoso! Manuela é perfeita anfitriã! Chegamos com meu marido passando mal, Shirley já nos recebeu com todo carinho. Manuela providenciou uma enfermeira para ir atendê-lo em casa. Foi um anjo! A casa é impecável, bem como está descrito no anúncio, linda decoração. Ela é uma artista. A localização é ótima, pudemos fazer tudo a pé. Tivemos as melhores indicações, de restaurantes, passeios, ela até nos passou uma dica de roteiro, lojas, showwww! A Shirley muito atenciosa, logo cedo, estava pronto nosso café da manhã, delicioso! Frutas, arepas com ovos, wafles, torradas! Tivemos momentos inesquecíveis! nível 5 estrelas! We had a fantastic stay at Casa Macondo in Cartagena. The house is beautiful and stylishly decorated, with great attention to detail, and everything was impeccably clean. Manuela arranged everything perfectly from the moment we booked until check-out – her communication and service were excellent. Shirley also deserves special mention: she provided a delicious breakfast every morning and kept the house spotless. In short, a wonderful place to stay. We felt truly welcomed and would love to come back. Highly recommended!

Our stay at Casa Macondo was absolutely wonderful — a truly authentic Cartagena experience. From the moment we arrived, Manuela’s attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the home and our stay. She was an exceptional host — warm, responsive, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring everything was perfect. A special mention must go to Mrs. Shirley, the housekeeper, who made our visit extraordinary. Her kindness, care, and impeccable service added so much warmth and comfort. She truly makes Casa Macondo the incredible home that it is. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautiful, memorable stay in Cartagena.

Una experiencia inolvidable, ¡me sentí como en casa! Desde el primer momento que llegamos, supimos que este lugar era especial. La atención que recibimos por parte de Shirley, la ama de llaves, fue simplemente excepcional. Una persona cálida, atenta, y con un nivel de profesionalismo admirable. Todo estaba impecablemente limpio, cada espacio olía delicioso y se sentía acogedor. Shirley no solo se encargó de que todo estuviera perfecto, sino que también nos hizo sentir cómodos, cuidados y bienvenidos en todo momento. Su dedicación marcó la diferencia. Y qué decir de Manuela, la decoradora y dueña de la casa. Tiene un gusto exquisito. Cada rincón de la casa está lleno de detalles pensados con amor, estilo y personalidad. Se nota que ha puesto el corazón en cada elección de diseño. ¡Es como hospedarse dentro de una revista de decoración, pero con alma!

Casa Macondo is simply stunning. My family and I fell in love with this place. So many beautiful details to mention. The hand painted murals were spectacular, all aspects of the decor, the crisp bed linens, the breathtaking city and ocean views from the rooftop terrace, the flawless internet, the hot water and shower pressure, the motorized curtains and blackouts, the chilly ACs, the high end coffee maker. Everything screams luxury in this home. We felt spoiled and cared for in every which way. Manuela is an excellent hostess. The housekeeper was sweet and helpful. Manuela went above and beyond to make this one of the best vacation experiences we’ve ever had. I would totally recommend this Airbb. Don’t hesitate to book this place. Its the real deal.

We totally enjoyed Casa Macondo. My friends and I found it to be really special. The house is even prettier than the photos, full of charm, and just feels good to be in. You can tell it was put together with a lot of thought and care. It had everything we needed, and Shirly made us amazing breakfasts every morning. She really took care of us and made us feel at home. Another highlight is the location, right in the middle of the old city, close to everything, but still quiet enough to relax. We loved being able to walk everywhere and then come back to this peaceful spot. The building’s gym, pools and jacuzzi were a huge bonus. It felt like a boutique hotel but with all the comforts of home. Honestly, we didn’t want to leave and are already dreaming of coming back. Casa Macondo is a true gem.

Just got back from an amazing stay at Casa Macondo…it completely blew us away! The location is perfect, right in the heart of the historic center, steps from great restaurants and little boutique shops. One night we even caught a carriage ride right outside the door! The house is gorgeous and uber clean, beautifully decorated, and even better than the photos. Each bedroomm had its own bathroom and TV, and the murals are stunning. Shirley, the housekeeper, was fantastic. Her breakfasts were delicious and she kept everything spotless (we used a translator app to chat). Manuela, the host, was warm, attentive, and helpful every step of the way. The rooftop was beyond with a private plunge pool and incredible views. We also loved the building’s pools, gym, and steam room. We were a group of 7 and felt completely at home. Absolutely recommend. Can’t wait to go back!
